i think shane Ackers 9 is one of the most important happenings in animation in a long time.. few animators have ever had the chance to take there short and make it a movie!!!! right now i cant think of anyone who has done this... Richard Williams is still trying to get his movie made,
this post is dedicated to "9" ..will be putting up vids and other stuff... very inspiring to take you short idea make and make a movie... its a dream come true...

Tool: ZV Parent Master ..Constraint Salvation
Check out this maya plugin - ZV Parent Master. It makes constraining a breeze ! I've been using it for a while and its useful especially if you want to detach a constrained object and attach it to something else.

Awesomeness:

beat-boxing site... so much fun!! :D... i hope one can get the compositions that we make.. will make adding some background sound to stuff so easy and so "hip"
Notes: Squash and Stretch & Anticipation...The Subtle knife

smugbuddha: one of the basics.. animators tend to go crazy with squash and stretch...a lot of the time its that little bit extra that we like to add, to feel like we are doing some thing cartoony.
but used right, subtle, it moves away from being cartoony and adds to acting and emotion.. even on the simple shapes.

Elliot Roberts: " Even if those accents are small, the contrast will make a huge difference in how your scene feels, and will take your animation to a new level of appeal. "
Notes: Why Animate from the root?

Elliot Roberts " The hips, or root of a character can have so much influence over the appealing and believable motions of a character. Like the rubber pencil trick, the hips can influence the rest of the body so much that it can even appear to give flexibility to parts of the body that aren't necessarily animated."
